Safety First: Visitor Guidelines & Emergency Information

Safety first, before you arrive

We are planning for visitor safety well before event day. These visitor guidelines apply to attendees, exhibitors, vendors, vehicle entrants and staff. Adults 21+ only; bring valid government-issued photo ID. Follow venue rules, posted signs and directions from event staff, security and emergency responders.

Entry and bags

No weapons, including firearms, knives and other dangerous items, subject to applicable law. No illegal drugs or illegal activity. No cannabis sales or consumption. No threats, harassment, fighting, reckless conduct or tampering with safety equipment. Entry may include ID checks, bag inspection and other lawful security screening. Refusal of required screening may result in denied entry.

Leave oversized bags, suitcases and unnecessary bulky items at home. Small personal bags are preferred. Medical equipment, medically necessary bags and accessibility items will be accommodated and may receive a respectful private screening. The final bag size rules and screening procedures will be published before the event. Never touch or move an unattended or suspicious item; move away and notify staff or call 911 when there is immediate danger.

Security and emergency coordination

Our safety plan includes on-site event security, controlled entry, incident reporting and coordination with the venue and local law enforcement, including arrangements for an on-site law enforcement presence. Staffing, officer assignments and medical coverage are being arranged and are not yet confirmed. Final visitor instructions will be posted before event day. Security personnel may refuse entry or remove people who create a safety risk, subject to applicable law.

If something happens

For a medical emergency, fire, immediate threat or serious injury, call 911 and alert event staff. Give your exact location and the venue address below. Do not delay calling 911 while looking for a staff member. Keep entrances, marked exits, fire lanes and accessible routes clear. Locate exits when you arrive. Do not use elevators during a fire evacuation.

Follow instructions to evacuate or shelter in place. During a tornado warning, move to the venue-designated interior shelter away from windows; do not shelter under tents or in display vehicles. Outdoor activities may pause for lightning, severe wind or other dangerous weather. Staff will identify the approved shelter areas and accessible assistance arrangements before opening.

If an active attacker is present: escape when safe, leave belongings behind and keep hands visible; if escape is unsafe, hide out of view, lock or barricade if possible and silence your phone. Defend yourself only as a last resort when your life is in immediate danger. Call 911 when safe and follow responding officers’ instructions.

Visitor comfort and accessibility

Stay hydrated, dress for the weather and arrange a sober ride. Ask staff for accessibility help or a quiet place if available. Service animals and necessary mobility aids are welcome under applicable law. Contact info@ohiocannabisexpo.com before the event for access arrangements; do not email medical records. These precautions reduce risk but cannot guarantee a risk-free event.

Car show traffic and display safety

No burnouts, racing, drifting, reckless driving or unsafe demonstrations. Drive at walking speed when staff direct vehicle movement; display vehicles remain parked with engines off except when authorized. Keep pedestrians separate from vehicle arrival routes. Do not move a vehicle in a crowded display area without staff direction. Keep accessible parking, fire lanes and emergency access clear. No refueling or hazardous fuel storage in display areas; follow venue and fire official instructions.
